MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WEEK 11: PHILADELPHIA EAGLES AT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

It’s been multiple weeks of lackluster Prime Time football matchups, but the NFL schedulers at least tried this week, though Joe Burrow’s injury on Thursday Night Football messed that game up early. Still, there’s no better contest on the NFL schedule in 2023 than this one as the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl LVII rematch on Monday Night Football.
This is just the 11th all time meeting between the two franchises, with Kansas City holding a 6-4 advantage. The Chiefs have won four straight over Philly going back to 2013, when Andy Reid was the Eagles coach. In fact, Reid took both these teams to the Super Bowl in his tenure.
Of course, they last met up in the Super Bowl on Feb, 12, with KC winning 38-35. Patrick Mahomes was Super Bowl MVP once again after going 21 of 27 passing for 182 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the win. He scrambled six times for 44 yards. Isiah Pacheco rushed 15 times for 76 yards and a score. Travis Kelce caught six passes for 81 yards and a TD.
In the loss, Jalen Hurts was 27 of 38 passing for 304 yards, one touchdown, no picks, but a disastrous first half fumble that cost the Eagles a scoring opportunity and likely the game. He led Philly in rushing with 15 carries for 70 yards and three TDs. DeVonta Smith caught seven passes for 100 yards.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (8-1)
Philadelphia held off a late-surging Dallas Cowboys team last week, winning 28-23. Jalen Hurts was 17 of 23 passing for 207 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the win. He rushed 10 times for 36 yards and a score and was sacked three times. AJ Brown caught seven passes for 66 yards and a TD. The defense held the Cowboys to just 73 yards and forced a fumble.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (7-2)
The Chiefs bounced back from an embarrassing loss to the Denver Broncos by holding off the Miami Dolphins, 21-14 last week. Patrick Mahomes finished 20 of 30 passing for 185 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He rushed six times for 42 yards and was sacked twice. Isiah Pacheco had 16 carries for 66 yards. Noah Gray caught three passes for 34 yards to lead the receivers. The defense sacked Tua Tagovailoa three times, held Tyreek Hill to just 62 yards receiving and forced a fumble.
THE PICK
Both these teams have been playing it way too close over the last few weeks, as if they’re just trying to get a bad loss hung on them. Of course, Kansas City already got one, falling to the Broncos, so that’s probably what will make the difference here. That and the fact that they’re at home. Chiefs 27, Eagles 24
