Lamb, Kamara Headline Battle of Undefeated as Saints Face Cowboys

It’s a matchup between two teams who put up big numbers in Week 1. The Saints dismantled
the hapless Panthers scoring 47 points while the Cowboys went into Cleveland and racked up
33 points against one of the elite defenses in the league. Now the teams collide in what could
be a wild shootout in Texas.
Cowboys
The Cowboys were underdogs in Cleveland but the defense really took care of business
recording 2 interceptions, 6 sacks and creating a fumble. Dak Prescott didn’t have to be great,
completing 19 of 32 passes for 179 yards with a TD while the ground game racked up just over
100 yards in the win. Dallas should be rocking for the home opener and we could see the
offense even more effective, indoors, at home.
Saints
Let’s not get too excited over the Saints huge win. Sure, they put up 47 points and QB Derek
Carr threw for 200 yards and 3 TDs, leading a strong offensive performance. And yes, Alvin
Kamara contributed with more than 100 total yards and a TD. And the defense was just as
impressive, three turnovers and held Carolina to just 58 rushing yards. But remember, they
were playing the Panthers, possibly the worst team in football. Still, we’ll give the Saints credit
but they’ll need to play mistake free against the Cowboys if they have a real shot of pulling off
the upset.
Prop Plays
CeeDee Lamb: Over 86.5 Receiving Yards (-118)
Fresh off a four-year, $136M deal, CeeDee Lamb was rather quiet in Week 1, just five catches
for 61 yards. Expect him to find more space in the Saints secondary and Dak Prescott, who
didn’t need to throw much in Cleveland as the defense stepped up its game, should be ready for
an air attack at home.
Alvin Kamara: Over 49.5 Rushing Yards (-118)
Alvin Kamara had some success against Carolina with 15 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown.
He looks like he’s returning to his form of a couple of years ago and establishing the run game
isn’t a bad thing for the Saints as they’d want to keep the Cowboys offense on the sidelines. As
long as New Orleans doesn’t fall behind early, Kamara should get lots of touches.
Game Betting Odds
Saints +6.5 (-105)
Cowboys -6.5 (-115)
Total: 45.5
