Odds Favor McIlroy To Lead PGA Tour Money List In 2020, Koepka Second In Line

The best golfers in the world are ready and waiting for the 2020 PGA Tour season to resume on January 2nd, 2020. While we still have a couple of weeks to go, the anticipation is growing thanks in large part to the PGA Tour futures wagers we already have available to us right now. One futures bet that is worth taking a close look at is predicting the overall money list leader on the PGA Tour this season. Let’s take a closer look at some of the best options on the board.
BROOKS KOEPKA
ODDS TO WIN OFFICIAL MONEY LIST: +500
While Rory McIlroy is the favorite to finish atop the PGA Tour money list, he wouldn’t give us much value at just +185 to earn that distinction. Rather than risking our money on McIlroy with a less than ideal return, we decided to go in a different direction and pick Koepka instead at much better odds. Koepka ended the regular season atop the FedEx Cup rankings after he registered three wins and a total of nine Top 10 finishes. While he might not have finished the way that he wanted, he will get his shot at redemption this season.
JUSTIN THOMAS
ODDS TO WIN OFFICIAL MONEY LIST: +500
Another name that stands out for a number of reasons is Thomas. First of all, the 26-year-old is entering his prime as one of the most talented players on the PGA Tour. Secondly, he’s coming off a strong season in which he finally really started to get the respect that he deserves as a truly elite golfer. Third, Thomas has already registered Top 5 finishes in three of the four events he has teed up at in 2020, including winning the C.J. Cup @ Nine Bridges back in October. Finally, at +500 odds there is certainly good value putting your money down on Thomas.
JON RAHM
ODDS TO WIN OFFICIAL MONEY LIST: +1100
While Tiger Woods seems like a gimmick bet at +1200 odds to finish atop the PGA Tour money earning list, the name listed right ahead of him seems much more likely to contend for that distinction. Rahm is currently listed at +1100 odds to accomplish that feat. The 25-year-old is coming off a runner-up finish at the Hero World Challenge in his first and only event on the 2020 PGA Tour calendar. He’s also hitting his prime after breaking through with 12 Top 10 finishes in 20 starts last season. The fact that he is listed at such long odds makes him that much more appealing. It’s definitely worth rolling the dice on Rahm to deliver in 2020.
JORDAN SPIETH
ODDS TO WIN OFFICIAL MONEY LIST: +5000
Our final pick on the board is a sleeper option that might be worth taking along with one of the other three names mentioned in this column as a straight up bet. Spieth certainly has a long way to go before people start to buy in on his potential once again. However, the fact that he is such a skilled golfer that has been able to spend the past couple of years maturing makes him that much more dangerous. While he isn’t an obvious pick here, he is definitely worth throwing a little money on as a long shot to finish first.
