One of the biggest boxing events of the year is on tap for this weekend as Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury get set for their rematch. Of course, this mega-event will be hosted in Las Vegas where a star-studded crowd is expected to be on hand at T-Mobile Arena.
The first bout ended in a draw as Fury’s defense dominated the early storylines before Wilder finally connected with some power late in the fight. BetOnline has posted a whole slew of props for the bout, so let’s take a look at four fun ones on the board:
WILL DONALD TRUMP CONGRATULATE THE WINNER?
NO: -800
YES: +500
Although this is one of the biggest sporting events of the year so far, we don’t really know if President Donald Trump will be watching. Sure, he’s had interest in big bouts before but Wilder-Fury isn’t exactly Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield. If one of these fighters was a known Trump supporter, of course he’d come out and say.
WILL THE FIGHT END IN ROUND 1?
NO: -125000
YES: +2500
Of course, this refers to Deontay Wilder’s knockout power. We’re talking about a fighter who has plenty of it as 41 of his 43 bouts have ended in knockout wins. In the two that didn’t, Wilder still managed to knock down Fury and nearly knock him out and in the other bout, the fighter that survived was hospitalized two days later.
20 of Wilder’s wins have come via first-round knockout but keep in mind that many of those wins were early. Tyson Fury is a defensive guru and will be very careful early on. He’s never been knocked out ever – let along in the first round.
WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE?
NO: -135
YES: +105
As mentioned, not many of Wilder’s bouts got the distance but it’s worth noting that Fury is a different type of animal. He’s very impressive in terms of his defense as he slips and slides, and avoids big hits. We saw just how much he frustrated Wilder in the first bout as Wilder couldn’t find the range until very late in the fight. Even when he did, Fury was knocked down but got back up and ended up lasting the full 12 rounds.
If you’re thinking that Wilder has learned something from that first bout, maybe a bet on the ‘Yes’ is worth a little sprinkle as maybe he finishes him off earlier this time around.
WHO WILL BLEED FIRST?
TYSON FURY: -400
DEONTAY WILDER: +300
Fury doesn’t throw with a lot of power, so it’s tough for him to win this prop. He typically comes in with jabs and light punches just to collect some points here and there, and then tries to avoid Wilder’s power. That means that Wilder and his wicked power is more likely to force blood out of Fury before the other way around.
There’s always the chance that they but heads or Fury gets dirty and catches him with something, but logically speaking, Fury is the more likely of the two fighters to bleed first.
