2022 League of Legends LEC Spring Split Playoffs Round 1 Betting Preview

European League of Legends fans have had to wait three long weeks between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs. While other major regions have had their regular seasons and playoffs start in consecutive weeks, the LEC decided to be extra cautious because of COVID. That time off means there are a lot of unknowns heading into the first round of the LEC Spring Split Playoffs. Rogue was the best team in the regular season, but they aren’t as much of a favorite over Misfits Gaming as they would have been a few weeks ago by the League of Legends betting odds.

2022 League of Legends LEC Spring Split Playoffs Round 1 Betting Odds

Rogue -303
Misfits Gaming +225

Rogue went 14-4 during the regular season but split their two games against Misfits Gaming. They have a First Team All-Pro top laner in Odoamne and a First Team All-Pro jungler in Malrang. Rogue also have one of the best mid laners in Larssen and an elite support in Trymbi, but Comp is something of a concern as the bottom laner.

Vetheo was named Player of the Game 10 times during the regular season, and that’s six more Player of the Game awards than everyone else in the LEC had save Hylissang. He was easily the best mid laner in Europe with a 5.9 KDA, and his play is the only reason why Misfits Gaming were a top four team in the regular season. There isn’t a lot of talent elsewhere on the roster, so it will take a Herculean effort from Vetheo to pull off what would be a huge upset over Rogue.

Fnatic -238
G2 Esports +171

The most storied rivalry in European League of Legends will see another playoff showdown when Fnatic takes on G2 Esports. These two teams split their two regular season meetings, and they have very different strengths.

Fnatic plays through its bottom lane and might have one of the best three or four bottom lane tandems in the world with Upset and Hylissang. Upset led the LEC with an absurd 16.5 KDA this season, and Hylissang was a big reason for that success with his engages. Meanwhile, G2 Esports continue to play around their mid lane and jungle as Caps and Jankos have been together for years now.

G2 will test Fnatic, but the favorites will answer the challenge and come up with some unique drafts that G2 doesn’t have an answer for on Saturday.

Excel Esports +177
Team Vitality -244

Congratulations are in order for Excel Esports after finally making the playoffs. It’s been a long time coming for Excel, but they are likely to be one and done at this point according to the oddsmakers. They are prohibitive underdogs in Sunday’s match even though they beat Team Vitality in both of their regular season meetings.

Both teams finished 9-9, but Vitality was supposed to be a superteam. That has led to them being sizeable favorites although we haven’t seen this team establish itself all year. It’s tough to back them, and we could see them collapse if they lose the first game.
