The winners of the last three editions of the Memorial are two of the three favorites to win at Muirfield Village this year by the golf betting odds. 2020 winner Jon Rahm currently has the shortest odds to win the event at 10-1, while Patrick Cantlay is 16-1 to win the Memorial after claiming this title in 2019 and 2021. Rahm and Cantlay are sure to be two of the most popular picks this weekend, but there are better options available for the price.

Category: PGA Tour
Date: June 2-5, 2022
Location: Muirfield Village Golf Club, Dublin, Ohio

2021: Patrick Cantlay -13
2020: Jon Rahm -9

We saw Patrick Cantlay beat Collin Morikawa in a playoff at Muirfield Village last year to win his second Memorial championship in three years. Cantlay shot 19-under to win this tournament in 2019, posting the lowest score since Tiger Woods won three straight Memorials from 1999 to 2001. He is one of three golfers with 20-1 or less odds to win the Memorial this weekend alongside Rahm and Rory McIlroy.
The Course
Muirfield Village was designed by Jack Nicklaus, and it became a permanent stop on the PGA Tour after it opened in 1976. Nicklaus won the second edition of this tournament, and his two titles on this course were tied for the most all-time before Tiger Woods smashed it with five Memorial championships from 1999 to 2012.
This is a par 72 course that checks in at 7,533 yards for this tournament. Power off the tee and strong second shots are prized on this course, but perhaps the most important thing is to sink your putts considering the run on the greens.
Best Bet to Win the Memorial Tournament: Matthew Fitzpatrick +2800
Matthew Fitzpatrick is looking for his first win on the PGA Tour. Fitzpatrick has been close in recent weeks, and this could be his breakthrough event. He has placed in the Top Ten six times in 13 events this season, and he finished T2 at the Wells Fargo Championship and T5 at the PGA Championship in his last two competitions. Additionally, Fitzpatrick came in 3rd place at the Memorial two years ago, so he knows what it takes to succeed at this event.
Value Play to Win the Memorial Tournament: Max Homa +4000
It’s been a boom or bust season for Max Homa. He has already won two PGA Tour events (the Fortinet Championship and the Wells Fargo Championship), but he only has one other top ten finish. Homa has only missed the cut twice this year though, so there’s reason to believe he can be in contention for a 40-1 shot. In 12 career rounds at Muirfield Village, Homa has only finished over par twice.
