Today’s Top Horse Pick of the Week comes to us from Churchill Down in the 9f Jefferson Stakes on Turf. The eighth race on the card features 8 runners and we are taking a hard look at #3 Corruze (6/1).

Turf racing is a game of acceleration with each quarter of the race run faster. What we like about Corruze is his Form Cycle Pattern indicates a widening turf spread which means he’ll be going faster later in the race. He will surely like the extra ground (as this is the longest race of his career) and this added distance will give Corruze a chance to make up lengths in the stretch. His jockey Corey Lanerie is one of the top riders at Churchill and that cements the pick. For our money it’s Corruze on top, with a small saver bet (25% of overall win bet) to place.
