MLB Rookie of the Year Odds: Dominguez, Sasaki Favored

We are getting closer to Opening Day, and once again, the Rookie of the Year market is one of the more popular ones. Let’s take a look at both leagues and preview who could be in line for the award in 2025.

AL Rookie of the Year Odds

  • Jasson Dominguez +300
  • Jackson Jobe +550
  • Roman Anthony +700
  • Kristian Campbell +700
  • Jacob Wilson +1000
  • Will Wagner +1200
  • Coby Mayo +1200
  • Kumar Rocker +1200
  • Christian Moore +1400

Jasson Dominguez, Yankees +300

The Yankees continue to find some of the best prospects, and Jasson Dominguez could be another star in the making. “The Martian” has showcased his power, smacking six homers and posting a .747 OPS in 26 MLB games. However, his defense has been called into question, and mental mistakes could hurt his chances.

Jackson Jobe, Tigers +550

Could Jackson Jobe be the next Tarik Skubal? Maybe somewhere down the line, and that’s why the Tigers selected him with the 3rd overall pick in 2021. Jobe has the potential to make his mark in Detroit’s rotation and provide some depth. He threw 233 innings in the minor leagues with an ERA of 2.97, a WHIP of 1.14, and 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings.

NL Rookie of the Year Odds

  • Roki Sasaki +185
  • Dylan Crews +350
  • Matt Shaw +425
  • Quinn Mathews +900
  • Bubba Chandler +1000
  • Jordan Lawlar +1100

Roki Sasaki, Dodgers +185

Roki Sasaki was the big offseason signing by the Dodgers. The 23-year-old threw 414 2/3 innings across four seasons in Japan, with a sizzling 2.02 ERA and 0.88 WHIP. He struck out 11.4 batters per nine innings and gave up only 16 home runs. Expectations will be huge for Sasaki, but with a roster like the Dodgers, he should put up a lot of wins.

Matt Shaw, Cubs +425

Matt Shaw appears to be the Cubs’ starting third baseman and is rated as the No. 19 prospect in all of baseball and the No. 1 prospect in the organization. He won the Cape Cod League batting title by hitting .360 for the Bourne Braves and was named the MVP in 2022.
