MMA Betting: UFC 273 Parlay

There are two titles up for grabs at UFC 273, but that’s arguably not the most anticipated fight of the night. Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns will square off prior to the title defenses from UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling and UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski. There are huge favorites by the UFC betting odds in each of the three main fights, but this is still set to be a very good card.

On Saturday, April 9, 2022, UFC 273 will take place from VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The preliminary fights will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+ starting at 8 p.m. ET, while the main card will get underway at 10 p.m. ET through ESPN PPV.

UFC 273 Picks

We’re swinging for the fences this week with our biggest potential payday to date. Big underdogs means big potential rewards, and we are rolling with two of the three dogs in the major fights on Saturday night.

Gilbert Burns +400 vs. Khamzat Chimaev

There’s little doubt that Khamzat Chimaev is a potential superstar in the making. Chimaev announced his presence in a big way with two wins in 10 days in July 2020, and he won Performance of the Night bonuses with his first-round wins over Gerald Meerschaert and Li Jingliang to move to 10-0. He has finished all 10 of his opponents inside of two rounds, and he could challenge for either the welterweight or middleweight title with a win here.

All the attention and buzz might be a little too much too fast though. Chimaev has been great in limited action, but he has yet to face a top-tier fighter like Gilbert Burns. Burns challenged for the UFC Welterweight Championship last year and is the No. 2 ranked contender in this division. He should not be this much of an underdog given that Chimaev is still a little raw.

Petr Yan -475 vs. Aljamain Sterling

Petr Yan was well on his way to making a successful title defense over Aljamain Sterling at UFC 259 last year. Yan was in full control of the fight until he made a bonehead decision to strike Sterling with an illegal knee, and Sterling told the referee that he was unable to continue to become the first fighter to win a title by DQ.

There was supposed to be a rematch at UFC 267, but Sterling bowed out of the fight because of neck issues. Yan won a unanimous decision over Cory Sandhagen in place of Sterling, and he deserves to be a heavy favorite by the UFC betting odds after what we saw in the previous fight.

Chan Sung Jong (Korean Zombie) +500 vs. Alexander Volkanovski

Alexander Volkanovski is one of the biggest favorites in a title fight in the history of UFC. Volkanovski is 23-1 and hasn’t lost a fight in almost nine years. He has successfully defended the UFC Featherweight Championship twice since beating Max Holloway by unanimous decision at UFC 245, but this is too heavy of a price.

Fan favorite Chan Sung Jong is challenging for a title for the second time. The Korean Zombie isn’t the best technical fighter, but he is capable of finishing his opponent early. The odds are too tempting to pass up at 5-1 for one of the best featherweights in the UFC.
