There were slated to be two title fights at UFC 260. The main event will see Stipe Miocic defend his heavyweight belt against Francis Ngannou, and the co-main event was slated to showcase featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski taking on Brian Ortega. Unfortunately, that fight was postponed after Volkanovski tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend. Still, this figures to be an exciting promotion as Ngannou is out to avenge an earlier loss to Miocic.
UFC 260: Miocic vs. Ngannou 2 is slated to be the last major event that will be held at the UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This promotion will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2021 with the prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN and ESPN Plus. The main card will begin at 10 p.m. ET and it will be available exclusively on PPV.
UFC 260: Miocic vs. Ngannou 2 Betting Odds
Stipe Miocic +103
Francis Ngannou -123
Miocic scored a unanimous decision victory over Ngannou for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 220 in January 2018. It was Ngannou’s first loss in the UFC, but despite that setback, the challenger is a slight favorite per the MMA betting odds.
We have seen Ngannou largely dominate his foes in the UFC. After two second-round KOs to start his time with the organization, he secured four straight first-round victories highlighted by a submission of Anthony Hamilton and a knockout of Andrei Arlovski.
Ngannou is back in that form with four straight first-round knockouts coming into this bout. He earned Performance of the Night bonuses for his quick victories over Curtis Blaydes, Junior dos Santos, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik, and that last victory came in a lightning quick 20 seconds at UFC 249 in May.
The current champion is closing in on 40 years old. Miocic is arguably the greatest heavyweight in UFC history with a 5-1 record as champion, and his only loss in the last six years was avenged twice with his two most recent victories over Daniel Cormier.
This is a nice spot to bet on Miocic at plus odds. The current champion knows ring control like few others and has a boatload of experience. There are concerns over Ngannou’s stamina as he is 0-3 in fights that go the distance, and Miocic can take advantage.
Tyron Woodley +215
Vicente Luque -255
It hasn’t been a great last couple years for Tyron Woodley. The former UFC welterweight champion held the strap for two years and nine months, but he lost the title to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235. Woodley lost by unanimous decision to Gilbert Burns last May, and his comeback hopes received another blow when he suffered a rib injury and lost to Colby Covington in September.
Woodley is looking to get back on the right track and eventually challenge for the title again. However, he has another tough test at UFC 260 in Vicente Luque. Luque is 17-7-1, and he has won 12 of his last 14 bouts. He earned Performance of the Night honors for his second-round TKO win over Randy Brown back in August, and he is 10 years younger than the former champion.
It might be worth a flyer on Woodley at this price since he has yet to defeat an elite opponent.
