The Biggest Line Movements For UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs. The Korean Zombie

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is headed to Busan, South Korea and the Sajik Arena for its upcoming UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs. The Korean Zombie event. It will be the first UFC event ever to take place in Busan and only the second card to take place in South Korea. While the December 21st fight card has been handicapped substantially by this point, we noticed some significant line movements that could be overlooked when it comes to breaking down which fighters the smart money is on for this event. Here is a look at some of the biggest line movements heading in to the UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs. The Korean Zombie event.
FLYWEIGHT BOUT: (21-4) ALEXANDRE PANTOJA VS. MATT SCHNELL (14-4)
OPENING LINE: PANTOJA -185
CURRENT LINE: PANTOJA -240
The flyweight bout between Pantoja and Schnell has seen the biggest line movement of the entire event with Pantoja moving from -185 to win outright to -240. While Schnell has strung together four wins in a row in the division, his list of opponents will get much tougher this time around as he runs in to Pantoja. The Brazilian, who fought on the same season of The Ultimate Fighter as Schnell, is looking to bounce back in a big way following a decision loss to Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 240. An extremely skilled technical fighter, Pantoja should have the edge over Schnell in a bout that could very well end with a stoppage via submission.
BANTAMWEIGHT BOUT: RAONI BARCELOS (14-1) VS. SAID NURMAGOMEDOV (13-1)
OPENING LINE: BARCELOS -175
CURRENT LINE: BARCELOS -115
Another substantial line movement ahead of this UFC Fight Night card is Barcelos as the betting favorite over Nurmagomedov. Barcelos was initially listed at -175 odds, but moved to -115 in recent weeks. Originally scheduled for UFC 237 back in May, Nurmagomedov pulled out of that card because of injury. Barcelos took advantage of the situation when he was pitted against replacement Carlos Huachin, stopping him in his tracks with a second-round TKO. After four straight victories via stoppage, including the last three in the UFC, it’s clear that Barcelos is the better fighter. While the line has already moved, the reality is it just makes for better value betting on Barcelos at -115 odds.
HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT: CIRYL GANE (5-0) VS. TANNER BOSER (17-5-1)
OPENING LINE: GANE -600
CURRENT LINE: GANE -650
One of the most obvious picks on the board for this UFC Fight Night card is also one that you likely won’t touch at this point with Gane the favorite over Boser. Originally listed at -600 odds to win, Gane has since moved to a ridiculous -650 odds.
Gane has talked about his desire to finish Boser and not all this fight to go the distance. Considering the trajectory of his career at 5-0 and the fact that he’s reached that mark without much in the form of resistance are strong indicators of what is in store for Boser. While the value isn’t good by any means in terms of betting a money line wager, it might be worth taking Gane as part of a parlay ticket to take advantage of the fact that he should be a lock to win this heavyweight bout.
