UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs. Fiziev Parlay

This week’s UFC event doesn’t have the same firepower as what we saw at UFC 276 on Fourth of July Weekend. However, there is still some quality on the card, headlined by Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev. Dos Anjos is a former UFC Lightweight Champion, and Fiziev is hoping to challenge for a title soon. Fiziev is a moderate favorite by the UFC betting odds in this fight, and a win would get him closer to a shot at the belt.

UFC on ESPN: Dos Anjos vs. Fiziev will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada outside of Las Vegas. The promotion will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 6 p.m. ET and the main card getting underway at 9 p.m. ET.

UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs. Fiziev Picks

Rafael Fiziev -228 vs. Rafael dos Anjos

Since winning the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 185 seven years ago, Rafael dos Anjos is just 7-6. Dos Anjos successfully defended his title against Cowboy Cerrone, but he lost the belt in his next match and dropped down to welterweight after losing to Tony Ferguson too. The former lightweight champion originally had success at that weight, but he lost three of his next four fights after losing to Colby Covington with the interim title on the line.

Dos Anjos hasn’t been impressive since returning to lightweight. He only bested Paul Felder by split decision, and he was unable to finish Renato Moicano four months ago after Moicano took the fight on just four days of notice. That doesn’t bode well for his chances against a young and hungry fighter like Rafael Fiziev.

Fiziev is a former Muay Thai champion that is 11-1 in his MMA career. He lost his UFC debut, but he has since won five straight fights and earned a bonus in four consecutive bouts. Fiziev has knockout power and could finish Dos Anjos inside the distance.

Cynthia Calvillo -142 vs. Nina Nunes

This fight looks to be a mismatch. Although Cynthia Calvillo has lost three straight fights, her only defeats have come at the hands of top fighters. Calvillo has nice wins over Joanne Calderwood and Jessica Eye too, and she is out to prove she still has something left in the tank.

Nina Nunes is just 10-7 in her UFC career and hasn’t won a fight since December 2018. Nunes has only fought once in the last three years as she took time off to start a family, and she looks to be nearing the end of her career at 36.

Caio Borralho -230 vs. Armen Petrosyan

Caio Borralho won his UFC debut in April to move to 11-1-1 as a professional fighter. He is a promising young middleweight that is looking to make a mark on the promotion, and he will have his chance by taking on Armen Petrosyan in the co-main event. Petrosyan was much less impressive in his promotion debut, winning a split decision, so he has been installed as an underdog in this fight.

Borralho should be able to keep the kickboxer at bay with his significant reach advantage, so the favorite is the play in this bout too.
