UFC Fight Night: Font vs. Aldo Parlay

Two-time UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo will take on Rob Font in the headline fight of one of the last major promotions of the year in MMA. Aldo is one of the best fighters in the history of the UFC, and he is looking to prove he still has what it takes to compete at a high level. Font knows the magnitude of this fight, and a win should set up his first UFC title shot sometime next year. That’s the biggest fight of the night, but there are other interesting bouts on the card.

After taking a week off for Thanksgiving, the UFC is back this week. UFC on ESPN: Font vs. Aldo will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from the UFC Apex Training Center outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. The preliminary fights will start at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN and ESPN Plus, and the main card is pegged to start at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN Plus.

UFC Fight Night: Font vs. Aldo Picks

Jose Aldo +115 vs. Rob Font

The legendary Jose Aldo was the UFC Featherweight Champion for over four years. Aldo successfully defended the belt seven times before his first loss, and he reclaimed the belt with a win over Frankie Edgar before suffering consecutive defeats at the hands of Max Holloway. He lost to Petr Yan with the UFC Bantamweight Championship up for grabs at UFC 251, but he has since defeated Marlon Vera and Pedro Munhoz by unanimous decision.

Rob Font has won four straight fights coming into this bout. He was very impressive in wins over Marlon Moraes and Cody Garbrandt within the last calendar year, but Aldo has a ton of top-class experience. That makes him worth a play as an underdog on Saturday night.

William Knight +128 vs. Alonzo Menifield

Former CFL star Alonzo Menifield won nine straight fights when he broke into MMA. Menifield was a first-round knockout specialist, but he was figured out last summer. He didn’t have the stamina to go the distance against either Devin Clark or Ovince Saint Preux, but he finally secured a decision victory against Ed Herman at UFC 265.

Menifield has yet to prove he can go the distance more than once though, making William Knight a tempting pick as an underdog. Knight has had four of his last eight fights go into the third round, so he should have more endurance than his opponent.

Jimmy Crute -170 vs. Jamahal Hill

Jimmy Crute might have lost his last fight, but he won Performance of the Night bonuses with his impressive wins last year. Crute scored a first-round submission and a first-round knockout, and he is 12-2 as a professional fighter.

Opponent Jamahal Hill lost to Paul Craig at UFC 263. His only nice win has come against Ovince Saint Preux, and the submission specialist is not the formidable foe he was a few years ago. Hill will have a tough time taking down Crute here.
