Leaning fully into Justin Fields as their starting quarterback a season ago, the Chicago Bears won many a championship for those playing fantasy football in the seasonal or daily variety.
Wins on the field were tougher to come by for the former Monsters of the Midway. As such, Chicago, though much improved in the eye test, still secured the top pick in April’s draft and traded it away to the Carolina Panthers.

Chicago Bears 2023 Odds
2023 NFC Championship Odds: +2500
Team Wins: Over 7.5 (-140), Under 7.5 (+110)
There’s plenty of excitement surrounding the Bears franchise this offseason for good reason. While they did secure the No. 1 overall pick in April’s draft, they traded it away to build around their budding star quarterback, Justin Fields. And they got him a new weapon in wide receiver DJ Moore in the process.
In spite of all the fan-based playoff team talk, Chicago is still very behind the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions in the NFC North and probably doesn’t have the good luck to slide into one of the three Wild Card spots this season. They could be exciting, especially early. They host the Aaron Rodgers-less Green Bay Packers in Week 1 and then play at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2, so the Bears could be looking at a 2-0 start before being bludgeoned in Arrowhead by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Their schedule teeters from winnable game to all but guaranteed defeat thereafter. It’s tempting to pick the over here, as 8 wins is on the table. I just don’t see it happening yet.
2023-23 Win Prediction: 7-10
