2023 HOUSTON TEXANS WIN PREDICTION

BY ADAM GREENE

For the last two seasons we had high hopes that the Houston Texans, through their player acquisition and coaching hires, would be our first 0-17 franchise in league history. In both seasons, they ruined our hopes in Week 1.

Now, thanks to bringing in DeMeco Ryans as their head coach, those dreams are now very dead.

Houston Texans 2023 Odds

2023 Super Bowl Odds: +15000

2023 AFC Championship Odds: +6600

2023 AFC South Odds: +800

Team Wins: Over 6.5 (+125), Under 6.5 (-155)

For the first time since Bill O’Brien was the head coach and Deshaun Watson the team’s quarterback, the Houston Texans are actively trying to win. Will they? No. But they probably won’t be in any danger of landing the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s draft.

This is definitely a team that could surprise some people with some big wins and upsets this season. But I’ll ask, why should that shock anyone? The Texans should have been 0-17 the last two years and all they did was win their opener in 2021 and tie with the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 last season. Houston has yet to lay down, even when it was in their best interests to do so.

New head coach DeMeco Ryans was the right hire, but he’s not a miracle worker. Houston will be better this season, but they’re a year away from entering the postseason conversation at best.

2023-23 Win Prediction: 6-11
