For the third time this season, we were tantalizingly close to hitting our Crazy Parlay in Week 13. My predictions were good for 7 out of 10 in our attempt to turn $10 into $17,834.75, nearly matching Week 11’s 8 out of 10, but still nothing like losing out on Week 3’s Crazy Parlay with 7 out of 8 true moneylines, with the lone loser coming in the last game of the weekend on Monday Night Football.
Getting so close once again only strengthens my resolve. I will hit one of these Crazy Parlays or, I won’t say die trying, but maybe stub a toe or get an annoying paper cut. I’m willing to risk that for you. For America, really.
If this is your first gander at the Crazy NFL Parlay, here’s how it works. I scour the odds, moneylines and over-unders, hand selecting bets to forge together into a mighty Crazy Parlay Sword like Conan’s dad at the beginning of the movie. But I am not trying to solve the Riddle of Steel, by Crom. Instead, I’m trying to win a big pile of money large enough to dive into like Scrooge McDuck.
As such, we are harnessing chaos. We are turning the “Any Given Sunday” mantra into our guiding principal, not with the goal of entering the Hall of Crom in his Great Mountain, but in the pursuit of cold, hard cash.
Here’s what I’ve selected for Week 13:
Raiders at Chiefs under 48 (-115)
Jets (+200)
Saints at Jets under 42.5 (-110)
Ravens (+125)
Ravens at Browns over 43 (-110)
WFT (+177)
Bengals (+107)
Bills (+153)
Rams (+115)
If you’ve already read my Friday Afternoon Quarterback NFL picks column, and that should be the first thing you do in every said Friday afternoon, then you know all these over-unders line up with my predictions.
Also, I like the New York Jets to off the New Orleans Saints, the Baltimore Ravens to upend the Cleveland browns, the Washington Football Team to make Dallas Cowboys’ head coach Mike McCarthy’s win prediction null and void and the Cincinnati Bengals to survive their contest with the San Francisco 49ers.
So, really, it’s just the Rams and Bills we have to talk ourselves into.
Buffalo should have been publicly shamed by their hapless loss at home to the New England Patriots, but the best way to remove that bitter taste from their mouths would be to defeat the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They have the roster to do it. The will is the only question there.
And while I’ve picked the Arizona Cardinals to win against the Los Angeles Rams in my Monday Night Football preview, that game could very well be a coin flip. Plus, Sean McVay has lost a total of one game to Arizona in his head coaching career and it happened back in October.
A $10 winning bet on these moneylines and over-unders pays $14,421.64.
