BY ADAM GREENE
Dallas Cowboys fans might have a little more to be thankful for after Thursday’s abysmal performance against the Buffalo Bills. In front of a national audience at home, the Cowboys were never really in the game after the first quarter.
If this isn’t the end of Jason Garrett in Dallas, he’s got photos stashed in a safety deposit box somewhere of Jerry Jones before he puts his make up on or something. There’s no other explanation.
Let’s get to the picks.
SUNDAY
GREEN BAY PACKERS AT NEW YORK GIANTS (+6, O/U: 44.5)
Aaron Rodgers let us all down in a big way when he helped prove the San Francisco 49ers were the best team in the NFC by a wide margin last Sunday. PACKERS 33, GIANTS 10
WASHINGTON REDSKINS AT CAROLINA PANTHERS (-10, O/U: 39.5)
Kyle Allen threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns against a great New Orleans Saints defense last week. Dwayne Haskins got 14 likes on his Instagram selfie and one of them was from his mom. PANTHERS 27, REDSKINS 10
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS AT BALTIMORE RAVENS (-5. O/U: 45.5)
It’s the Super Bowl LIV match up we all want and one the New England Patriots will most assuredly ruin in the playoffs. RAVENS 35, 49ERS 24
TENNESSEE TITANS AT INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-1, O/U: 43)
The Titans and Colts are currently tied for second in the AFC South with 6-5 records, a game behind the Houston Texans, who are 7-5. The Texans are playing the Patriots this week, so there’s a good chance the winner of this game will take over the top spot in the division. I’m going with the team not coached by Mike Vrabel. COLTS 24, TITANS 20
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES AT MIAMI DOLPHINS (+10, O/U: 45)
Just when the Eagles are struggling on offense, the Dolphins arrive to save the day. EAGLES 35, DOLPHINS 20
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS AT JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (+2.5, O/U: 47.5)
Jameis Winston just had his second good game of the season. He’s usually good for three, but never back-to-back. JAGUARS 27, BUCS 16
NEW YORK JETS AT CINCINNATI BENGALS (+3, O/U: 41.5)
The Red Rifle returns as the team smacked the Microsoft Surface tablet out of Andy Dalton’s hands and gave him back the football. It’s time. BENGALS 23, JETS 20
CLEVELAND BROWNS AT PITTSBURGH STEELERS (+1, O/U: 39)
It’s a rematch of helmet-gate and neither guy involved will be playing. BROWNS 26, STEELERS 16
LOS ANGELES RAMS AT ARIZONA CARDINALS (+2.5, O/U: 47.5)
According to analytics, the Rams have an 8.8 percent chance of making the playoffs and that all depends on them winning out and finishing 11-5 with games against the Seahawks and 49ers ahead on the schedule. So, yeah, not looking good for a team that has half its cap locked up in five or six players. RAMS 33, CARDINALS 17
OAKLAND RAIDERS AT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-10.5, O/U: 51)
I have a feeling this line is all based on how absolutely horrible the Raiders played last week against the Jets. I don’t like the points, but I like the Chiefs. CHIEFS 38, RAIDERS 21
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS AT DENVER BRONCOS (+3, O/U: 38.5)
It’s time to start the clock on Anthony Lynn’s head coaching career. He might get another year, but only because the only people more apathetic than Chargers owner Dean Spanos are their fanbase. CHARGERS 23, BRONCOS 13
SUNDAY NIGHT
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS AT HOUSTON TEXANS (+3.5, O/U: 46.5)
The Pats have been coughing blood for weeks, eking out victories with their defense. As bad a coach as Bill O’Brien is, former New England assistants seem to catch Bill Belichick at least once a year. TEXANS 24, PATS 13
MONDAY
MINNESOTA VIKINGS AT SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-3, O/U: 49.5)
The two teams currently leading the NFC Wild Card race meet up on Monday night in a game with real playoff implications. Specifically, which team gets to go into Dallas on Wild Card weekend and knock Jason Garrett out of a job. SEAHAWKS 27, VIKINGS 23
