After travelling the world over the past few weeks, the PGA Tour returns to the United States and the Sea Island Seaside Course in Saint Simons Island, Georgia for the RSM Classic this week.
We’re five tournaments into the season and while most players are still finding their feet and warming up, others have hit the ground running. Let’s take a look at the golf betting odds for this week and see where there’s value on the board.

THE FAVORITES
WEBB SIMPSON +900
Simpson is the obvious favorite for a couple of reasons heading into this week. First, he is one of the best pure talents in the field. Second, Simpson absolutely loves this course. He finished third at this event last year and he ranks fifth in all-time earnings at Sea Island. After producing the best numbers of any golfer that has never won this event over the years, Simpson is the favorite to finally breakthrough and win the RSM Classic this week.
BILLY HORSCHEL +1400
Horschel is in the mix among the top favorites this week for good reason. He might be the best betting option on the board based in part on his talent and in part on the fact that he is available at better odds than Simpson. A victim of a playoff shortcoming when he last teed off here in 2016, Horschel enters this week absolutely on fire after registering three Top 10 finishes in his last five starts.
NEXT IN LINE
HARRIS ENGLISH +2800
English has been outstanding to open the season with four Top 10 finishes to his name already. Now he has the opportunity to shine in a field that doesn’t feature as many elite talents as English is accustomed to teeing off against. He has competed and done well at this tournament before, including two Top 25 finishes. He’s probably safer for a Top 10 prop but with a light field, he might get a win here.
SCOTT SCHEFFLER +2800
Scheffler has yet to get that elusive victory this season but he has quietly put together some excellent numbers to date. He won twice on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019 and has also placed in the Top 20 in four of his six starts since winning his full card. Scheffler still needs to put his entire arsenal together for a full four rounds but he checks all of the boxes for a player with the potential to surprise. At +2800 odds, it’s worth taking a shot on the Texan this weekend in Georgia.
SLEEPERS
ZACH JOHNSON +5000
Johnson is a veteran name in the field and is offering a 50/1 payout. That is pretty good value for a golfer that has registered two of his previous three Top 10 finishes at this Sea Island Course. After recording two Top 25 finishes in his last three starts, it seems like he’s getting himself back into the mix. This is a guy who made the cut in 13 of 19 events last year, so the fact that he’s in the Top 25 suggests that maybe he’s found his game.
BRIAN HARMAN +5000
Harman is an interesting sleeper option to consider this week for a number of reasons. First of all, he’s a local resident that knows this course inside out. Second, he’s flashed his potential here before including a T-4th at this event two years ago. Third, Harman has been hot early on this season with three Top 20 results.
Along with Johnson, he’s a dart throw but one that’s at least calculated. He seems to be undervalued at 50/1.
