Tyson Fury knocked out Deontay Wilder this past Saturday in one of the most entertaining boxing megafights we’ve seen in a while. From the epic first matchup to the entrances and battle in the rematch, it was quite a spectacle. Fury won handily this time around, knocking down Wilder multiple times before knocking him out. Wilder has already triggered the rematch clause, so we’re going to see a trilogy here, but the oddsmakers are not expecting Wilder to bounce back. Fury has opened as a -215 for the rematch.

FURY DOMINATES WILDER IN REMATCH
It was an interesting Saturday night as the two fighters had incredible entrances to the ring. Fury was carried like a king while Wilder entered in a $40,000 costume along with a rapper/poet escorting him along with his entourage.
However, once the fight started, there wasn’t much intrigue to it as Fury dominated out of the gates. Unlike the first fight where Fury was dipping and slipping to avoid Wilder’s big punches, Fury came forward. It was one of the few times we’ve ever seen Wilder on his back foot throughout the back and that seemed to have thrown him off.
Regardless, it was the second straight matchup between the two where Wilder was outboxed. He probably should have lost the first match but he caught Fury with a big knockdown late in the bout, which tipped the scales from a Fury win to a Wilder draw. That type of power wasn’t seen on Saturday as Wilder never looked comfortable.
Wilder has come out and said that his $40,000 costume was very heavy and wore down his legs – or did something to his legs – and impacted him during the fight. In fairness, we did see him lack that power from his legs but it’s unclear whether it was because Fury rocked him early and often, or if Wilder was in fact hampered by something else.
WHO’LL WIN THE THIRD FIGHT?
At this point, it’s hard to bet on Wilder. Sure, he got a lot of love from bettors in the rematch as the fight was close to a PICK for the most part but late action on Wilder pushed the line up to Wilder -130/-140 by close. This time around, Fury has opened as a -215 favorite and barring some surprise, he’ll be expected to take care of business.
The challenge here is that Wilder doesn’t seem to have much of a boxing game to him. He relies all too much on his power and Fury – for the most part – has been able to mitigate that. Wilder hasn’t really had Fury in any trouble.
With Fury, we know now that he can either win on the judges’ scorecards or he can win via knockout as we’ve seen him do. With Wilder, it’s mostly about hitting that home run and given that he’s the much smaller man, is not good when moving backwards and can’t quite seem to figure out Fury, it’s hard to see him winning in the third bout.
