Men’s Final Four Betting Odds
The Duke Blue Devils were not one of the favorites coming into the NCAA Tournament. Duke had +1200 odds to win the national championship at BetOnline, and many observers thought that was a bit low for a team that arguably could have been on the No. 3 line. The Blue Devils have looked sharp in March Madness though, and they are now favored to win their sixth national championship under Mike Krzyzewski. However, to win it all, they will have to get past nemesis North Carolina in one of the most anticipated Final Four Games of all-time.
NCAA Tournament Betting Odds at BetOnline
Duke Blue Devils +145
This is the most talented team remaining in the NCAA Tournament. Paolo Banchero will be one of the first three players selected in this summer’s NBA Draft, and he has shown that he is an elite scorer this season. Banchero is averaging 17.1 PPG and 7.7 RPG, and he is hitting 47.8% of his field goals. He has had 16 points or more in all four of Duke’s NCAA Tournament games, and this team is finally getting production from fellow freshman A.J. Griffin. Mark Williams is one of the best defenders in the paint in college basketball, and Wendell Moore Jr. has blossomed.
Kansas Jayhawks +180
The Jayhawks had the easiest path to the Final Four. Kansas only had to face one top-eight seed, and that was a Providence team that all the advanced metrics were down on. Ochai Agbaji has been up and down during March, but he is coming off his best performance in the NCAA Tournament. David McCormack is an elite offensive rebounder and Jalen Wilson does a good job on the glass too. This team should beat Villanova considering the Wildcats’ injury issues, but they will likely have a hard time winning their second national championship under Bill Self.
North Carolina Tar Heels +475
North Carolina spoiled Coach K’s last game in Cameron Indoor Stadium, and the Tar Heels would love to send him out of the NCAA Tournament with a loss. UNC and Duke have never met in March Madness, so there will be a lot of extra attention paid to this game between blood rivals. The Tar Heels have two elite big men in Armando Bacot and Brady Manek and two solid backcourt players in R.J. Davis and Caleb Love. Bacot is one of the best rebounders in the game, while Manek is a 40% three-point shooter that frustrates opponents with his perimeter shooting at 6’9. Love and Davis are both 37% shooters from beyond the arc, and one of those two will need to hit threes considering the Tar Heels don’t have much depth.
Villanova Wildcats +500
If Justin Moore didn’t suffer a major injury last weekend, Villanova would have been a great pick to win the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats likely could have gotten past Kansas, and they would have been very competitive against either Duke or North Carolina considering their coaching. However, the loss of Moore deprives Nova of one of its best three players. Additionally, Collin Gillespie has been banged up with knee and ankle issues, so it’s tough to like the Wildcats.
