Team SoloMid Continues to Come Up Short Against the Best Teams in the LCS

The failures of Team SoloMid in recent years continue to define the most decorated team in the history of North American League of Legends. TSM hoped to put all those troubles behind them in the Summer Split with the acquisition of Doublelift, and it appeared they had done that after a 6-2 start. However, an 0-2 Week 5 that saw the organization lose to Immortals shows how far this team must go.

2020 LEAGUE OF LEGENDS LCS SUMMER SPLIT WEEK 6 BETTING ODDS

CLOUD9 -500
FLYQUEST +325

FlyQuest are simply no match for Cloud9. These teams have met six times in 2020, and C9 have won all six meetings in rather dominant fashion. C9 dismantled Flyquest in the LCS Spring Split Finals a few months ago, and they had little trouble defeating them in the opening game of the Summer Split.

WildTurtle has been replaced in the bottom lane by Mash, and he has proven to be an upgrade for the longtime veteran. Mash has done incredible work on Aphelios, but C9 are likely to keep the champion away from him given what we’ve seen that champion do in leagues around the world.

Licorice has a big advantage over Solo in the top lane, and Nisqy can mitigate PowerOfEvil in the mid lane. Blaber is the real difference maker though, as the Spring Split MVP will outshine Santorin in the jungle to lead C9 to the win.

TEAM LIQUID -325
100 THIEVES +225

This is an excellent price on 100 Thieves, so jump on the Esports betting odds for this match before they fall. They became the first team to knock off C9 last week, and they have won three straight games. Poome has looked sharp in place of Stunt at support, and Contractz was fantastic out of the jungle in both victories in Week 5. Ryoma is playing better, while Ssumday remains one of the top two or three top laners in the region.

Tactical was superb in the bottom lane for Liquid the last time these teams met, and CoreJJ made some great picks with Blitzcrank. Poome won’t allow Cody Sun to get caught out as often as his colleague did, so the Thieves have a great chance to pick up the win if Ryoma doesn’t get steamrolled by Jensen in the mid lane.

GOLDEN GUARDIANS -190
TEAM DIGNITAS +135

Since moving away from a hard carry top laner that needs resources to succeed, Dignitas have looked more competitive. While Lourlo isn’t anything special in the top lane, he can play Ornn very well, and that has been an improvement over the black hole that was V1per for the first two weeks. Dardoch and Fenix have been improvements over Akaadian and Froggen too, and that helped this team win their first two matches last week.

The Guardians continue to patch together enough wins to remain competitive, but there are some real deficiencies on this team. Hauntzer has really struggled in the top lane with a 48.8 percent kill percentage per Games of Legends, and Huhi is still acclimating to his new role as support. Closer has been the team’s standout player in the jungle, but Dignitas stand a good chance of pulling off the upset per the League of Legends betting odds if they can keep him from taking over.

COUNTER LOGIC GAMING -130
IMMORTALS -105

These are solid odds on Immortals too given what we have seen from them since their roster shakeup. It took some time for this organization to start playing well, but the bottom lane of Apollo and Hakuho has been as consistent as it was with Clutch Gaming. They have been a significant improvement, while Insanity has been much better than Eika in the mid lane. Insanity is looking like a strong up and coming mid laner with a bright future in the LCS.

Counter Logic Gaming have looked much better than they did in the Spring Split. CLG’s Stixxay is playing very well in the top lane, and Pobelter is back to influencing other areas of the map outside of the id lane. There are still some questions about this team though, so the underdog has good value.
