2022 League of Legends LEC Spring Split Week 2 Betting Preview

There weren’t a lot of surprises in the first week of the LEC Spring Split. Most of the betting favorites took care of business against their opponents with one big exception. Team Vitality failed to win a single game in Week 1, losing all three of their matches to enter the second week tied with Astralis in last place. Vitality might be at the bottom of the table again after Week 2 as well, as they close out the week against eight-time champions G2 Esports.

2022 League of Legends LEC Spring Split Week 2 Betting Odds

SK Gaming -120
Excel Esports -110

Can Excel Esports finally break their postseason curse? They have been in the LEC for six splits, yet they have never finished higher than seventh in the standings. Excel got off to a tough start in Week 1 with losses to G2 and Team BDS, but they did show they can compete with the best by taking down Team Vitality on Sunday.

Finn has played well in the top lane despite his middling stats, and he can get the upper hand on SK Gaming’s Jenax. We haven’t seen anything too impressive out of rookie mid laner Sertuss, so Excel Esports has a good chance to win this game.

MAD Lions -476
Astralis +312

It’s been a good start to the season for MAD Lions. The back-to-back LEC champions might have lost Humanoid and Carzzy in the offseason, but they have found solid replacements in Reeker and UNF0RGIVEN. Top laner Armut and jungler Elyoya have thrived too after strong rookie seasons in 2021, leading to them being the largest favorite on Saturday.

Typically, it’s not wise to lay a lot of chalk this early in the season, but Astralis are winless and could easily be the worst team in the LEC. They have not looked great in their first three games, and their gold differential at 15 minutes is almost -2500 per Games of Legends.

Team BDS +199
Rogue -263

Observers were too quick to give up on Rogue after their Summer Split swoon and dismal performance in a stacked group at Worlds. They are off to a 3-0 start and look like one of the strongest teams in the LEC despite losing Inspired and Hans Sama in the offseason. Trymbi leads the team with a 17 KDA, and Larssen continues to play well on assassin champions in the mid lane. They should have little trouble with Team BDS on Saturday.

Misfits Gaming +202
Fnatic -286

The overall favorites to win the LEC Spring Split are Fnatic. They have gotten off to a great start, but they have a negative gold differential at 15 minutes per Games of Legends. Those early game struggles mean that a team could take advantage of those missteps, making Misfits Gaming a nice upset pick at this price. Vetheo has played very well in the mid lane, and Hirit hasn’t performed as badly as his 1.4 KDA indicates.

Team Vitality -156
G2 Esports +118

The Match of the Week will feature Perkz taking on the team he was most successful with during his long career. Perkz played with G2 Esports for over five years, and he led his team to eight domestic split titles in that timespan. He has really struggled at the start of this year though with a paltry 1.3 KDA through three games. Caps has a good chance to get the better of him in the mid lane, and G2 has a bottom lane that looked very strong in the first week.
