2022 League of Legends LCK Spring Split Finals Betting Preview

The first spot at the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational will be claimed on Saturday when the LCK Spring Split Finals pit T1 against Gen.G. T1 are heavy favorites by the Esports betting odds after putting together the most impressive season we have ever seen. T1 went a perfect 18-0 in the regular season and slammed Kwangdong Freecs in three games last week. The three-time world champions are looking to win their 10th LCK title, and no other organization has more than three Korean championships.

Gen.G +357

These teams tangled twice in the regular season. T1 swept Gen.G 2-0 in both their regular season showdowns, but their opponents never had their full team available. Doran, Peanut, and Lehends missed the first series for Gen.G, and Ruler was unable to play in the second series due to COVID. This will be the first time that Gen.G has been able to face T1 with their full complement of players, and that will make them more competitive.

There are a few different ways for Gen.G to pull off the upset and grab Korea’s spot at MSI. Chovy has the chance to outduel Faker in the mid lane, as Gen.G’s mid laner is the most talented in the world according to LS and others. Faker is the greatest player of all-time, but his mechanics aren’t as crisp as they used to be, while Chovy led the league with a 7.1 KDA. Chovy probably has a deeper champion pool than Faker at this point too, as Faker has played a lot of his preferred champions like LeBlanc and Ahri.

Jungle is an area where Gen.G could have an edge too. Peanut is the greatest jungler in the history of the LCK, and he is still playing at an elite level. His preferred Nidalee isn’t in the meta, but he has been very good on Jarvan IV and Viego per Games of Legends. Oner has played either Lee Sin or Xin Zhao in 26 of his 46 games this season, and there are concerns about his champion pool although he has performed well.

T1 does have a big advantage in the top lane though. Zeus has been able to live up to his potential after a disappointing 2021 season. He was voted the best top laner in the LCK, and he has shown that he can play carries or tanks. Doran has been solid, but he doesn’t have the same talent at his counterpart.

The bottom lane will be an intriguing match-up. Gumayusi and Keria were the best bottom lane in the LCK this season, and Keria was named the Spring Split MVP. However, Ruler is one of the great AD Carries in Korean history, and he has been very impressive once again this season. Lehends can be a real difference maker in support, and Gen. G have a real chance of securing the upset if they can mitigate Gumayusi and Keria.
