2022 League of Legends LEC Spring Split Semifinals Betting Preview

The two European League of Legends powerhouses will meet on Saturday for a spot in the LEC Spring Split Finals against Rogue on Sunday. Fnatic looked to have Rogue beat last week, but they blew a 2-0 lead and lost three straight games to be sent to the Losers’ Bracket. They will now have to face blood rival G2 Esports in order to secure a rematch and a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational. Fnatic beat G2 Esports 3-1 two weeks ago, but G2 has a lot more confidence after sweeping Misfits Gaming and Team Vitality to keep their title hopes alive.

G2 Esports +138
Fnatic -185

We saw Humanoid win MVP when these teams met two weeks ago, as he was able to largely outplay Caps in the mid lane. That could change this time around though as Caps has been playing better and shouldn’t have to take facilitating champions. G2’s young bottom lane has looked a lot better with Flakked and Targamas really stepping up in last week’s victories. That’s why some like G2 as a short underdog per the Esports betting odds here.

They will have to take on the best bottom lane in Europe though. Upset and Hylissang are an elite tandem as Hylissang is the best support in the region by a mile, and he helped Upset set new records for KDA and fewest deaths. Every champion is an engage champion in the hands of Hylissang, and he has looked particularly sharp on Zilean and Renata.

Flakked and Targamas will have to do their best to mitigate the impact of Upset and Hylissang for G2 to pull off the upset, as G2 could win in the other two lanes. BrokenBlade appears to have turned a corner in the top lane, while former G2 turned Fnatic top laner Wunder has not been at his best this season. Wunder has just a 2.2 KDA in the postseason, and he has not performed well on weak side tanks.

The key for G2 will be Jankos in the jungle. Razork is the weak link for Fnatic, and he hasn’t been that impactful in the role. Meanwhile, Jankos is the best jungler in European history. He has been integral to G2’s success since joining the team in December 2017, and he was previously a star for ROCCAT and H2K Gaming. His smite steals are legendary at this point, and that can give G2 an edge when fighting around objectives.

There are some good reasons to back G2, but Fnatic is still the play. The bottom lane is just too dominant, and YamatoCannon is the best coach in the league. Fnatic is still kicking itself after being reverse swept by Rogue, and they will take out G2 on Saturday evening.
