2022 League of Legends LCS Spring Split Semifinals Betting Preview

The last major regions in League of Legends will crown their Spring Split champions this week. Royal Never Give Up and Top Esports will meet for the LPL Spring Split title early Saturday, while 100 Thieves will face either Team Liquid or Evil Geniuses for the LCS Spring Split title on Sunday. Liquid will have to beat two teams that it already faced in order to be crowned champions, and both of those series went five games. That should make for a very entertaining weekend of League of Legends.

Team Liquid -192
Evil Geniuses +142

In the first series between these teams earlier in the playoffs, Team Liquid were significant favorites. Liquid finished the regular season in first place, so they were expected to cruise past Evil Geniuses, but their opponents had other ideas. The series went all five games before Liquid finally advanced after strong performances from Santorin, Bjergsen, and Hans Sama in the decisive fifth game.

Liquid does have a significant advantage over EG in the mid lane. Bjergsen is still the top mid laner in the region, and he posted a 4.2 KDA against this team earlier in the playoffs per Games of Legends. He is the best mid laner in the history of North America, while it’s clear that Jojopyun is the weak link of Evil Geniuses. Fortunately for EG, this is not a meta where you need a strong mid laner.

This is a meta that plays to EG’s strengths. They have a jungler that can make plays in Inspired, a bottom laner that can hard carry in Danny, and a top laner that is comfortable on weak side tanks in Impact.

Inspired and Danny are both carrying a 6.8 KDA this postseason. We have seen Inspired make it happen on a number of different champions, while Danny can dominate on Zeri or Jinx. They are the players that will be key for Evil Geniuses if they are going to pull off the upset.

Although Liquid lost a five-game series to 100 Thieves, they will likely be favored against them if they reach the finals. There is too much talent on this super team that has five imports (three of which have since changed residency to North America).

CoreJJ is one of the best supports in the world. This isn’t a meta where a support can have a huge impact though, so his edge over Vulcan is somewhat blunted. The same goes for top laner Bwipo to a lesser degree, as his deep champion pool isn’t as much of a factor with most teams playing tanks up top.

The key for Liquid in this game might be Santorin. The Danish jungler has only played three champions in 10 games this postseason, and he hasn’t had the synergy with Bjergsen that Liquid hoped to see this split. If he doesn’t play well, that could lead to a surprising win for Evil Geniuses.
