2022 League of Legends LPL Spring Split Semifinals Betting Preview
There are only four teams left in the LPL Spring Split Playoffs. However, the semifinals in China work a little differently than they do in other regions. The first three rounds of the playoffs are single-elimination, but the four remaining teams move to a double-elimination format. Victory Five and JD Gaming both lost their first series earlier this week, so the loser of their match on Saturday is eliminated in fourth place. Meanwhile, the winner of Top Esports and Royal Never Give Up will earn an automatic bid in the LPL Spring Split Finals and become the favorite to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational. The loser will face the winner of Saturday’s series between V5 and JDG for the other spot in the finals.

Victory Five -145
JD Gaming +120
It was brutal to watch JD Gaming blow a 2-0 lead against Royal Never Give Up on Wednesday. It looked like JDG had the series in hand after Kanavi was a monster out of the jungle on Lee Sin in the early game. However, the series shifted after RNG banned Lee Sin over the last three games, and Kanavi couldn’t have the same impact. That hurt the laners for JD Gaming and led to a gut-wrenching loss.
Victory Five also blew a 2-0 lead. Rookie was dominating Knight early on in the series, but things changed after Top Esports prioritized keeping Orianna and Syndra away from him. Karsa was unable to do much to help his jungler, while top laner Rich ended up posting a 1.3 KDA.
The positions to watch in this series are mid lane and jungle. Rookie is one of the best mid laners in the world, and Karsa has been one of the top junglers in the region for a long time. That gives them an edge over JD Gaming as Kanavi is an elite jungler, but Yagao is not as strong as other mid laners. This makes V5 a deserved favorite by the League of Legends betting odds.
Top Esports -135
Royal Never Give Up +113
As long as Wayward can play relatively well in the top lane, Top Esports should be able to beat Royal Never Give Up for a spot in the LPL Spring Split Finals. Wayward has a 2.9 KDA with a 46.8% kill percentage in the playoffs per Games of Legends, while the rest of TES have KDAs above 5.0. Knight has been great with an 8.4 KDA, while JackeyLove is dealing over 30% of his team’s damage.
Xiaohu is back in the mid lane for Royal Never Give Up, but this team is reliant on GALA exploding opponents in the bottom lane. GALA is dealing a whopping 34.7% of his team’s damage in the playoffs, and he has shined on Xayah and Aphelios. It will be hard for him to go against JackeyLove though, and that puts RNG at a disadvantage.
