You think this is a game? We went four for seven last week in our Crazy Parlay and two of the three we lost were by a single score.
This is what makes the concept of the Crazy NFL Parlay so tantalizing. We’re not just tossing corn hole bean bags at big money lines and plus vigs. We are trying to harness chaos itself. Entropy is not only our constant companion, it’s our wingman and it’s trying everything in its power to help us score.
This is a week of garbage games, with just two contests between squads with winning records and one of those happened Thursday night with the Green Bay Packers knocking off the previously undefeated Arizona Cardinals 24-21 because apparently AJ Green forgot he was playing football.
But that was good. If you follow me here and take my advice, you bet the Packers anyway. There are few things sweeter as a bettor than watching a team claw its way down the field for a chance to win a game while you’ve already won your wager regardless of what happens.
I can tell you what is sweeter, hitting one of our massive Crazy Parlays. Week 3 remains the gold standard so far this season, where we were one game away from buying a timeshare on a Costa Rican condo.
Here’s what I’ve selected for you this week:
Lions +163
Titans +130
Steelers +171
Bears +173
Jaguars +165
WFT +153
Saints +185
Cowboys +135
With all but two teams playing this week, we can go back to our usual eight game selection and this one may give Week 3 a run for its literal money.
If you’ve already checked out this week’s Friday Afternoon Quarterback (and, if not, go ahead. This article will be here when you get back), then you know that I like some of these “upsets” straight up; the Detroit Lions over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Cleveland Browns, the Chicago Bears over the San Francisco 49ers and the Jacksonville Jaguars over the Seattle Seahawks.
Now we just need to talk ourselves into the rest of them and, frankly, it shouldn’t be that difficult.
What are the chances of Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans (who are playing the Indianapolis Colts) going two games in a row without a monster rushing game?
The Denver Broncos have hit that “sim to the draft” portion of their season and Vic Fangio is probably already looking for Groupons on U-Haul rentals. Would it really shock you for Ron Rivera to put together a winning game plan for the Washington Football Team?
Last year the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers played three times and the Saints won two of them. New Orleans still has the same defense that flummoxed the Bucs in the regular season a year ago. And, who’s to say if Jamies Winston doesn’t have a solid revenge game performance in him?
Lastly, the Dallas Cowboys are a fresh addition to the underdog slate as Dak Prescott’s status becomes more uncertain. If Dak plays, Dallas has a chance regardless of how many legs he’s working with.
A $10 parlay bet win on these teams pays $20,085.13.
