Champions League Quarterfinals Odds
The oddsmakers are only expecting one of the Champions League quarterfinals ties to be competitive. Chelsea and Real Madrid are relatively even according to the oddsmakers, while Manchester City, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich are all expected to romp by the Champions League betting odds. Manchester City is still the overall favorite to win the competition, but City have been here before and have yet to cash in despite having the most talented squad in the world.
Champions League Quarterfinals Betting Odds at BetOnline
Manchester City -255
Atletico Madrid +750
O/U 2.5 and 3
Atletico Madrid are in fourth place in the La Liga table, but they are a dangerous team although their back line is not as strong as we have seen in previous years. This is not a usual Diego Simeone squad that relies on winning games 1-0, as Joao Felix and Antoine Griezmann are a talented tandem up top. Luis Suarez is still capable of creating magic too, so Atletico Madrid are one of the few teams that can take down Manchester City.
City is one point ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League race. The Citizens are heavy favorites to advance, but as with PSG, they have a history of coming up short at this point. They have only reached the Champions League Finals one time, so it’s worth backing Atletico Madrid at this price.
It’s going to be tough for Benfica to hang with Liverpool. They were fortunate to get past Ajax in the Round of 16, and they are the biggest longshot at this point. They are the only club left that’s not from one of the top five domestic leagues, and they are in third place in Portugal’s Primeira Liga.
Liverpool have been superb this season. They won all six of their games in a tough group that included Atletico Madrid, Porto, and AC Milan, and the Reds were able to get past Inter Milan in the Round of 16. This club should have no trouble getting to the semifinals for the first time since winning the Champions League three years ago.
Real Madrid +285
Another Paris Saint-Germain collapse gift-wrapped a trip to the quarterfinals for Real Madrid. Karim Benzema netted one of the most fortunate hat tricks you will ever see in high-level competition, and the most successful team in Champions League history is in good position to advance here.
Chelsea have been pretty lucky with their draws to this point. They were drawn into a group that they were never going to struggle to advance from with minnows Zenit St. Petersburg and Malmo, and they were able to face Lille in the Round of 16. The Blues are a good team, but they are going to find it difficult to make it back to the semifinals.
Bayern Munich -175
Robert Lewandowski is leading the Champions League in goals once again. Lewandowski has netted 12 goals in this competition, and he scored a hat trick inside of 23 minutes against Red Bull Salzburg in the Round of 16. Bayern Munich are probably the best bet to win the Champions League right now, and they are the team that is the most likely to advance into the semifinals.
Villarreal have been here before though. They were prohibitive underdogs against Juventus in the Round of 16 by the soccer betting odds, but they managed to win the second leg 3-0 in order to send the Italian juggernauts crashing out of the competition.
