Here with everything you need on the Kings League
Summary
A unique opportunity exists for American soccer fans to potentially represent their country. By submitting a skills video on TikTok or Instagram using the hashtag #KingsTeamUSA, three winners will be selected to join the USA squad for the 2026 Kings World Nations Cup in Italy. The 7-a-side tournament, created by Gerard Piqué, features a format with unlimited substitutions, ensuring the winners significant playing time.
The competition will be formidable, facing teams featuring global stars like Neymar, Robert Lewandowski, and James Rodriguez. The event will conclude in Turin in January 2026, following an initial ‘Swiss Format’ phase. Submissions for the three spots on the national team are currently open.
Play soccer for your country – it’s actually possible – YOU-ESS-A:
Wanna play soccer for the USA? Well, all you need to do is send in a TikTok or Instagram video of your skills and send it to #KingsTeamUSA. So what is the King’s League? It’s a 7-aside soccer format created by FC Barcelona legend Gerard Piqué.
Oh yeah, right, so one kid in the whole of America is going to get in, what are my chances?
No, my friend, there are, in fact, 3 spots open, and with unlimited substitutions in the game format, you are very, very likely to get actual, televised match time.
OK, tell me more: The 3 winners will join Team USA at the 2026 Kings World Nations Cup this January in Italy.
Wow, but who will be playing against? This is where it gets a little tasty (& indeed scary): Brazil & PSG’s Neymar, Bayern & Barcelona’s record-breaking Robert Lewandowski, Dutch hardman Wesley Sneijder and Colombia’s James Rodriguez. I mean, this is once in a lifetime stuff, pull out your tricks or AI the fuck out of it, but make sure you’re on that plane!
Submissions are open now, and if you don’t cut, no problem, we’ll have odds for you to enjoy & if you do get on the plane we’ll have odds that your friends can enjoy…no inside information though…that would be very naught,y and you might get spanked…but maybe you like that…up to you, man!
So how does it work?: Hoped you wouldn’t ask that, but it’s a ‘Swiss Format’ which means: Teams will compete in phase 1, which has 2 rounds, those that win 2 matches will head straight to the ¼ finals, those that win 1 and lose the other will play in the ‘Last Chance’. [Please insert this; so brilliant & so apt: Alan Partridge on the 1994 World Cup – YouTube – do yourself a favour & watch the whole show, best TV ever made, hence banned after 6 episodes]
Kings World Cup Nations finale will be in Turin (underrated town to visit, especially if you ski as well) on January 12th, 2026…& you might be there. Unincidentally, I was there to see Fulham vs Juventus in 2010. Fulham lost 3-1 in the 1st leg & in the home leg won 4-1 and went to the Europa Cup Final, the greatest night of my life. ANYWAY.
King’s World Cup Nations, teams:
Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Morocco (weird inclusion), Peru, Saudi Arabia (paid entry), Spain, Turkey (borderline paid, but can’t afford it, so weird), Ukraine, USA (YOU!?) & Uzbekistan (you’ll beat them at least, or I’ll personally spank you).
