Alabama vs Gonzaga – Early opinion on Alabama in the most anticipated game Monday evening from the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Alabama coach Nate Oats and Gonzaga coach Mark Few lead a pair of dynamic high-scoring teams that both rank top 10 in KenPom’s adjusted offensive efficiency. Alabama has already played one of the top-3 toughest schedules in the country, with a pair of high-scoring wins over St. John’s at Madison Square Garden and last time out against Illinois on a neutral-favoring court at the United Center in Illinois. Sandwiched between was an 87-80 home loss to No. 1 Purdue. Twelve of Alabama’s 31 games during the season are against teams that are ranked in the AP Top 25 Preseason Poll, and already four in the early season after facing Gonzaga. The Crimson Tide will play one of the toughest schedules in the country again after facing the No. 1strength of schedule in the nation over the last four seasons including the toughest schedule ever in the KenPom era last season. Alabama has two preseason All-SEC selections in guards Labaron Philon, Jr. and Aden Holloway.

Gonzaga is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS with five double-digit wins, including against Oklahoma, Creighton, and at Arizona State. The Bulldogs are averaging 94 points per game, and are 1-of-3 teams in the country to currently rank top 10 in both offense and defense in KenPom’s metrics, and No. 2 overall. Big body preseason All-American Graham Ike ranks No. 2 among active scorers and rebounders in NCAA Division basketball, and he enters the Players Era tournament averaging 17 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. KenPom metrics rank the Bulldogs’ roster second in the nation in experience, and the Zags have seven players who have played at least 70 games in their careers.

Tuesday, November 25

  • Notre Dame vs Rutgers
  • Creighton vs Iowa State
  • Syracuse vs Kansas
  • Baylor vs St. John’s
  • Tennessee vs Houston
  • Auburn vs Michigan
  • Maryland vs Gonzaga
  • San Diego State vs Oregon
  • UNLV vs Alabama

UNLV vs Alabama – UNLV plays fast under new coach Josh Pastner, and the Rebels have also surrendered 86 and 102 points to a pair of weaker opponents in defeat as double-digit favorites. The Rebels did pick up a nice road win at Memphis, 92-78. All five of UNLV’s games have gone over the total, and this Rebels-Tide contest will have a posted total greater than 175 points. That will still be reachable with Alabama dropping 100 on UNLV if they’re not worn out a bit from the game against Gonzaga the night before.
