Game 6 World Series Best Bets and Prop Plays for Friday October 31th

Summary

Following a decisive 6-1 victory, the Toronto Blue Jays are positioned to win their first championship in 32 years, with two potential home games to secure the title. However, the Los Angeles Dodgers are favored to force a Game 7, sending ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the mound. He is coming off a dominant complete-game performance in Game 2 and has a history of excelling in high-pressure situations. Toronto counters with Kevin Gausman, who pitched well for six innings in his last start before faltering in the seventh.

The prediction is for the Dodgers to win, extending the series. Yamamoto’s postseason dominance, allowing only five earned runs in over 28 innings, is expected to be the difference. A low-scoring game is also anticipated, making the under 7.5 runs the best bet. Additional player prop predictions include Yamamoto recording over 6.5 strikeouts and a parlay for three specific Blue Jays hitters to each strike out at least once.

After a big 6-1 win in Game 5, the Toronto Blue Jays are one win away from their first championship in 32 years and have two chances to get it done at home as the World Series returns to Canada for Game 6 and 7 (*if necessary).  But the Dodgers are favored to extend the series with ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto taking the mound. Let’s preview Game 6 with some of our best player prop plays as well.

Blue Jays+1.5 (-135) +131U7.5 (-110)

Dodgers Starting Pitcher – Yoshinobu Yamamoto (3-1 in Postseason)

Yoshinobu Yamamoto gets the start in a must win for the Dodgers and is coming off a gem in Game 2 where he retired the final 20 Blue Jays batters and needed just 72 pitches to get through the final seven innings.  A masterful performance recording his second consecutive complete game in the postseason.   Another complete game feels like a stretch but if he can keep Toronto bats silent and get some run support, he could go deep into Game 6.  Over the last four playoff starts, the Japanese star is averaging 6.5 K’s per game, and allowed just two runs in his last two starts.  Yamamoto has pitched in big games throughout his career from the Japan Series, the World Baseball Classic and the World Series, so pressure shouldn’t be a factor.

Blue Jays Starting Pitcher – Kevin Gausman (2-2 in Postseason)

It is the biggest moment of Kevin Gausman’s life, a chance to pitch in a World Series clinching game at home.  The last time a Blue Jays pitcher had this opportunity was Dave Stewart back in 1993.  Gausman’s Game 2 was fairly efficient and smooth through six innings where he gave up just one hit and struck out 6.  But things changed in the seventh when he gave up two home runs to Will Smith and Max Muncy, as the Dodgers went on to a 5-1 win.  Still, he pitched well in his longest postseason game going 6 â…” innings and now gets another shot against Yamamoto.  He faces an L.A. lineup that has struggled over the last two games as the top of the order (Ohtani/Smith/Betts/Freeman) combined to go 4-for-30 with 11 strikeouts.

Prediction: Dodgers moneyline (-145)

While the Blue Jays feel good about their chances of winning the World Series at home, they may have to wait until Game 7. Yamamoto, who went 12-8 with a 2.49 ERA in 30 regular-season starts, has been incredible in the playoffs allowing five earned runs in 28 2/3 innings, striking out 26 batters and walking just four. He’s already won at Rogers Center, and for bettors tracking every momentum swing, the MLB odds and game lines at BetOnline are updated live throughout the World Series. If anyone can turn around the Dodgers, it’s Yamamoto. L.A. has been in a similar situation facing elimination twice in last year’s NLDS against the San Diego Padres before winning two straight to advance. Dodgers force a Game 7 Saturday night.

BONUS Prediction for Game 6:  Under 7.5 (-110)

The Dodgers will have their ace on the mound but Yamamoto can only do so much as his team’s bats have gone silent, just 10 hits in the last two games. Toronto bats have been lively with 35 hits in the three games in California.  I think Yamamoto can hold the Blue Jays at bay while Gausman should feed off the home crowd to keep the Dodgers quiet at the dish.  But in the end, it’ll come down to the bullpens, when they are needed and if they can get the job done.  Still, in a clinching game, I see this as a lower scoring game, so the best bet here is the total.  BEST BET:  UNDER 7.5 (-110)

Player Prop Plays Best Bets

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Strikeouts – OVER 6.5 (+100)

We’re going with Yamamoto’s strikeouts because he’s been so dominant over his last 9 starts and in a must-win game, he’ll take his game to another level.  The Japanese star has gone over this number in 8 of his last 9 games.  If he gets into a groove early and silences the Blue Jays crowd, Dave Roberts may have no choice but to let him go as deep as he can and we’ve seen in his last two starts, he can go the distance.  Sprinkling higher strikeouts could be a play as there is value, even up to 10Ks which is currently listed at about +600.

Guerrero Jr., Lukes & Kiner-Falefa to Strikeout: Parlay +310

Sticking with the assumption Yamamoto mows down batters, lets parlay three players who may go down swinging at least once on Friday.   Sure, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been the best hitter but he’s also struck out twice in the series, including once by Yamamoto.  Lukes has three Ks including two by Yamamoto while Isiah Kiner-Falefa, batting near the bottom of the order has been punched out three times in the series.  STRIKEOUT PARLAY:  Guerrero Jr., Lukes & Kiner-Falefa +310
