NHL Best Bets for November 25, 2025: Stars vs Oilers Picks and Props

Summary

A matchup between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers promises a chaotic, high-scoring game. Dallas enters with strong recent form, boasting a structured defense and superior goaltending from Jake Oettinger. In contrast, Edmonton relies on star power but suffers from defensive volatility and inconsistent netminding from Stuart Skinner. This makes the Stars a valuable underdog despite being on the road.

Key player props include Jason Robertson exceeding 3.5 shots, Leon Draisaitl taking over 2.5 shots or scoring a goal, and defenseman Evan Bouchard surpassing 2.5 shots, leveraging his power play role. For live betting, if Edmonton scores first, backing Dallas at improved odds is recommended. If the first period is slow, targeting a live over on the total goals is a strong angle, given both teams’ potent offenses and history of high-scoring affairs.

One game, multiple angles — Dallas brings structure and goaltending into a building where the scoreboard stays busy.

Tuesday’s NHL slate is light on volume but heavy on opportunity. Dallas heads to Edmonton in a game that promises chaos — fast pace, clashing styles, and a head-to-head history that always delivers fireworks.

Dallas has been one of the league’s most consistent teams over the past month, while Edmonton brings star power but lacks the defensive reliability to be trusted as a heavy favourite.

Here’s how I’m playing this one game slate:

Stars Moneyline (+123) | Stars vs Oilers

Edge in one line: Dallas brings the better goaltender, deeper defensive structure, and recent consistency against an Edmonton team that’s wildly volatile in net and prone to defensive breakdowns.

Bet Breakdown:

Dallas has been rock solid lately — just two regulation losses in their last 16 games. They play structured, patient hockey and don’t beat themselves, which makes them dangerous on the road. The Stars are actually scoring more away from home (3.45 goals per game) than at home, so the road spot doesn’t scare me.

The goaltending gap is real. Jake Oettinger has been clearly better than Stuart Skinner, both overall and in recent form. Oettinger posts a .902 save percentage with quality starts in 60% of his games, while Skinner sits at .885 with a 3.00 GAA and the kind of inconsistency that turns bad defensive nights into disasters. Look at Skinner’s last three starts: .921 against Florida, then .750 against Washington, then .852 against Buffalo. When it goes bad, it goes horribly bad.

Edmonton is coming off a long road trip and should have some home ice energy, but they’re being priced like a heavy favourite at -140 when this is closer to a coin flip with a slight lean to the Oilers.

Dallas will be missing top-line winger Mikko Rantanen due to a one-game suspension, which dings their firepower, but they still roll out two dangerous scoring lines and a deeper blue line than Edmonton. Getting +123 on a live dog with the better goalie and more consistent structure is a swing worth taking.

Player Props | Stars vs Oilers

Jason Robertson – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal

Robertson is the trigger man for Dallas, averaging 4.4 shots per game (96 shots in 22 games). He plays 20+ minutes a night, runs the top power play, and with Rantanen out, there’s even more pressure on him to shoot.

Leon Draisaitl – Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (or Anytime Goal)

Draisaitl is the main shooter on Edmonton’s top unit, averaging 2.5 shots per game with 14 goals already, including 7 on the power play. He camps in his office and rips one-timers, and Dallas’ penalty kill has been hanging around the mid-70s — bottom-third territory.  If you get +120 or better for anytime goal, consider a sprinkle — this game has high special-teams impact written all over it.

Evan Bouchard – Over 2.5 Shots on Goal

This is the sneaky one. Bouchard averages 2.7 shots per game as a defenseman (66 shots in 24 games) and quarterbacks Edmonton’s elite power play. Dallas’ penalty kill tends to sag and let point shots through traffic, and in this matchup history, both teams’ power plays have shredded the other. Bouchard is often the guy launching from the blue line.

Live Betting Angles | Stars vs Oilers

Oilers Score First – Grab Dallas Live

If Edmonton scores first and the live line pushes Dallas out to +200 or better, I’m happy to take a shot on the Stars. Dallas is built to hang around and come back — they don’t panic, they grind. Oettinger can shut things down after an early goal, and Edmonton’s defence and Skinner can melt down in any period.

Slow First Period – Live Over

If we get a 0-0 or 1-0 first period and the live total crashes down to 5.0 or 5.5, that’s when you attack the over. These teams have a history of 4-3, 5-4, 6-3 type finals. Both teams have elite power plays, and penalties usually escalate as the game intensifies. Edmonton at home tends to open things up in the second and third. Look for live over if the first period is quiet and the total drops to 5-5.5.
